About Annual Chess & Community Conference

Chess & Community's mission is to impact youth in areas of academic achievement, community engagement, and critical thinking, using chess as a learning tool. Our conference is a space that will bridge Athens officials and community members dedicated to bettering Athens. We are offering four youth leaders a $1000 writing scholarship and space to champion their writing and public speaking skills to convey their ideas to develop Athens. We are also offering strategic thinkers the chance to win a $1000 cash prize if they choose to participate in our annual chess tournament. Our Conference Tech Corner allows participants to interact with leaders in the tech industry, discuss the future of technology, and how to become a part of the ever-changing global market.
